March 2016 – Canuck For Kids Telethon
Cathy provided support for the Roger’s Volunteers and works on data cleansing. The day after Telethon the constituents & gifts were imported into Raiser’s Edge and fully reconciled allowing the staff to finish the cleansing and produce tax receipts in a timely manner.

February 2016
Cathy has joined the newly formed AFP Canada Foundation – National Philanthropy Day Committee.

February 2016 – Variety-The Children’s Charity Telethon
Cathy was Project Lead for the 2016 Show of Hearts 50th Anniversary Telethon Luminate Online Project. She built the Donation and Volunteer Data Entry Credit Card Pages and Survey Pages for Pledge entry, managed the TV Crawl (tickertape) data and the manipulation of data from 4 data sources to import into Raiser’s Edge.

The Luminate Online Donation Page included Canada Post’s Address Completion scripts to allow users to enter their addresses clearly and efficiently. The weekend of the Telethon, Cathy worked over 23 hours to ensure all the TV Crawl presented appropriately and reporting to the Production Team was up to date throughout the Telethon.

December 5, 2015 Blackbaud User Group
Sat on a Consultant’s Panel discussing how organizations can get the most out of their consultants. Also did a quick presentation on Raiser’s Edge 7.95 and NXT to open up discussions for the future.

Fall 2015 – AFP Canada Foundation
Cathy joined the National Scholarship Committee for AFP Canada Foundation. They are tasked with the other committee members to score scholarship applications for professional development for fundraisers from all over Canada. The lucky recipients win scholarships to the international AFP Conference, the Toronto Congress, BCIT Fundraising Courses and many other worthy courses and development opportunities.

Summer 2015 Blackbaud User Group
Presented Crystal Reports with Raiser’s Edge with Sandy Fiddis, bCRE-Pro to give users and idea what they can do with Crystal Reports to better visualize Raiser’s Edge Data

Spring 2014
Cathy received her 25 year award for teaching at BCIT.

February 2013 – Party for the Park – a Michitsch Systems produced Fundraiser
Cathy’s milestone birthday was celebrated in style as a fundraiser for Stanley Park Ecology Society. Thousands of dollars were raised to support their conservation and education programs.

February 2009 – 2015 – Variety-The Children’s Charity Telethon
We volunteer at this event as data entry clerks; and post event, once the data has been merged together, we manipulate it back into Raiser’s Edge.

March 2009 – 2015 – Canuck For Kids Telethon
Each year, Cathy volunteers at this event and processes all the credit card donations, manipulates the data and has ALL the telethon constituents & gifts back into Raiser’s Edge the day after the telethon; thus saving Canuck Place a tremendous of data entry and the cost of hiring temporary staff to enter that data.

Cathy & her team are providing data conversion, implementation, training and support of Income Manager Enterprise software to several non profit organizations. This all inclusive software package, from Toronto, ON, is an excellent fit for a smaller organization to handle their fundraising activities. Cathy has returned from the AFP International Conference with exciting tips & tricks using technology in the not for profit sector.

Michitsch Systems staff member, Ming Kwei, worked full time at UBC doing data cleanup in preparation for UBC’s new system

Cathy appointed as a Project Team Member for the UBC Links Project to help UBC Alumni Engagement and Development source a new fundraising/alumni database system.

September 2008 – January 2009
Cathy, as Project Manager and Data Conversion specialist, ran the TB Vets project to implement Raiser’s Edge.

November 2008
Cathy has stepped down as the AFP Vancouver Chapter’s National Philanthropy Day co-Chair after 5 years working tirelessly as co-chair.

December 2003 – The inaugural “Night at the Aquarium” – a Fundraiser by Michitsch Systems
Cathy threw a party for 300+ people for her birthday at the Vancouver Aquarium. She named the event “Night at the Aquarium” which has become their signature event. The evening included a casino, a live band, a silent auction and many other fun things to do through the Aquarium.

That evening raised thousands of dollars for both the Vancouver Aquarium and the BCSPCA for Cathy’s love of animal care for both marine wildlife and domestic animals.
